Programs and Services

Vanderheyden provides comprehensive Day Habilitation services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focused on fostering independence, relationship building, self-advocacy, and community inclusion.

We offer two unique Day Hab programs:

Day Hab With Walls: Based on-site in East Greenbush, this program combines in-house learning activities with regular community-based skill development. Individuals engage in recreational outings and volunteer experiences while also participating in structured programming within the facility.

• Day Hab Without Walls: This entirely community-based program immerses individuals in daily volunteer and social opportunities throughout the Capital Region. Participants build skills and confidence while volunteering at local nursing homes, senior centers, churches, and thrift shops.

Both programs are designed to empower individuals through meaningful experiences and personal growth within inclusive community settings.
